Sweet Ride!

This girl was on my drawing board and completed in January 2016.

The little accent of red on the calipers gives the finished piece a little more punch!

With all the details, it made for a challenging subject to draw. With a dream car such as this, the owner had the completed piece custom framed with UV protected glass and hangs proudly in her home.

You can see the finished framed piece and this Porche at the Oakville Cruze Night hosted by the Oakville Lions Club and Boston Pizza.

Classic and modern cars are on show every Tuesday evening from 6-9 pm, May 24th toSeptember 10, 2016.

Located at the southwest Dorval Crossing, Oakville ON shopping plaza in the Boston Pizza parking lot. With over 200 cars at last count at the end of the 2015 season, this year's turnout expects to be a great season.

I'll follow up in a post with photos once the season gets started.

Remembering Karen

Fun loving, friend, mother, adventure seeker, Karen was on my board in December of 2015. She loved walking her dogs.

Her husband asked me to create this portrait as a gift for himself, his son and two daughters at Christmas time.

He was kind enough to write me a follow up letter after the portrait was opened Christmas morning.

"Dear Sarah, my family and I would like to thank you for the amazing portrait of Karen. You captured her beauty and soul. It was a pleasure to work with an artist that cares about details and perfection. I recommend everyone to have Sarah draw a portrait of your special someone, so they may live on in her work and in your hearts. Gord. "

Her spirit is very much alive.

Thank you for sharing this special lady with me Gord. May the portrait of your lovely wife trigger story telling episodes with your family, keep your memories fresh, and her spirit alive with you all.

The Drawing Board

I have another celebrity on my drawing board at this time. I'll be posting up a work in progress to show it's completion. I don't want to give away the identity yet...let's see if you can guess who it may be before it's done.

Any ideas?

As a rule, I don't usually work on more than one piece at a time. For the next couple of weeks, however, I'll be working on two. The new ORBA inductee has been added to the Hall of Fame collection for 2013 and a new portrait has been commissioned of me. Looking forward to drawing the new addition!
