Which part of your life has a story worth sharing?

The stories and memories behind your favorite photos are special to you. They unite you to family, friends and loved ones; are part of what connects you through life, and are a part of what makes life meaningful.

I create hand drawn portraits that bring new life to your favorite photographs, which hold the stories and memories of someone or something significant to you. The love, passion and energy infused into every portrait created helps you celebrate a special someone, story, passion or achievement.

By using one or several of your favorite photographs as reference for a portrait, I bring out the personality and feeling of your favorite people, pets or passions to become the enhanced focal point of a unique piece of artwork that you and others will cherish for years to come.

They can be of any subject matter. If I have a photograph to work from, I can draw it!

They are a perfect way to share and celebrate the things in life that make life meaningful.

Do you have a portrait idea on your bucket list? Have that someone on your gift list that is a challenge to buy for? Want to give something memorable to someone special?

They are one of a kind offerings for a special occasion - or just because. They are for others or yourself; as part of a collection, or individual pieces. They are unique original gifts for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, celebrations of life, milestone events, or for a reason that holds significance for you. They can be pre-purchased as a gift card, custom framed, made into beautiful prints, and recreated into custom cards, to proudly display and share with others.

"Dear Sarah, Thank you for the beautiful portrait of me and my father. My father is the most important person in my life and you captured the moment perfectly. This portrait brings tears to my eyes every time I look at it, so beautifully done, it's perfection. Sarah you are truly one of the most talented artists I know. Thank you so much, this portrait means so much to me!" Chantelle Cherry

You're part of the process. Co-create your portrait with me.

I guide you in choosing the right photo/s, size for your portrait, details that you want to include, and best displaying options. You will receive progressive updates as your portrait is being created, so you can be part of the final look and feel of your finished piece of custom artwork.

Pencil Portraits start with good reference photos.

A good reference photo will make the difference between a good portrait, and a GREAT portrait.

The best reference photos should clearly show the subject of your portrait with as many details as possible. High resolution images are best for me to work from. The clearer a photo is, the better a completed portrait will look. If the photos are not clearly in focus I cannot see (and draw) what you already know.

Close ups are good!

If you need to recreate a photo or need reference photos for me to work from, I can create photos for you. I am also a portrait photographer. Schedule a session with me to have some reference photos created for you to be used for the creation of a hand drawn portrait, or as part of a package.

I love to share your stories. Read about the stories behind completed portraits and see portraits in progression on my BLOG and through my Facebook Fan page.

I help you align, celebrate and reconnect with the things in life that matter, by offering you hand drawn lifelike portraits that infuse your heart, nurture your soul and fuel your passions.

"Dear Sarah, I wish to thank you for sending me the completed portrait of myself in my early military dress. The task which was requested of you was very challenging. Your ability to piece together my submitted dated photographs and military dress references, was truly creative. The most outstanding rendition in the portrait was your inclusion of characteristic personality, as recognized by my family." Sincerely, Kenneth Giles
